CBT Silk Road Initiative: Connecting Community-Based Central Asian Tourism and European Markets

The Kyrgyz Community Based Tourism Association (KCBTA) “Hospitality Kyrgyzstan” in the period from July 1, 2020 until December 31, 2022 implements a regional project: CBT Silk Road Initiative: Connecting Community-Based Central Asian Tourism and European Markets – funded by the EU’s Central Asia Initiative V program, implemented by a consortium led by ACTED in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan with the participation of the parties from Turkmenistan. The aim of the project is to stimulate investment, develop the private sector and promote the diversification of public tourism incentives (CBT). CBT is a public ownership and governance approach to tourism aimed at providing broader social, economic and environmental benefits. It is one of the sectors in Central Asia that has great potential to contribute to inclusive, sustainable rural growth and development.
