Kol Suu is a spectacular glacial lake set in a rocky canyon whose shear sides drop almost straight down into the lake. It’s difficult to get to, but is one of the most beautiful spots in all of Kyrgyzstan. It is located in the southeast of Naryn Oblastat 3500 m elevation in the Kurumduk Valley which means “the preserved valley” of the Tian Shan mountain , near the Kyrgyz-Chinese border. You need a border permit to go there because of its proximity to the Chinese border.
Original and official name of the lake on local maps is “Kol-Tetiri” Lake, which means “lake which flows back”.
Day 1: Transfer from Naryn to Ak-Sai Valley and further to Kol-Suu Lake yurt camp. It takes around 4-5 hours through spectacular scenery. Upon arrival late lunch at yurt stay. After lunch free time – walking and exploring around. Dinner and B&B in a yurt .
Day 2: After breakfast make 2-2,5 hours trek (or horse riding) to Kol-Suu lake. Tea time & picnic at Kol-Suu lake. Walk at surrounding area and take fantastic pictures. Optional: boat ride. Walk down to the yurt camp. Dinner. B&B in a yurt camp.
Day 3: Morning transfer to Naryn (4-5 hours), end of the tour.
